Bumps

Today, Damiana (aka: Nanie) came over to play. They had so much fun! This is a pic of after Nanie fell down and bumped her head, so we gave her an ice pack. Jaden then told us he bumped his head and eyes and needed an ice pack too. So, both kids were sitting on the floor with ice packs on their heads. It was funny. Neither one of them were hurt at all, mind you.

Birthday Day

On Jaden's real birthday, on Monday, I took the day off work so we could do fun stuff together. It was rainy all day, so I made banana chocolate chip (and flax seed) pancakes for breakfast. He was surprised to have candles in them to blow out. Then we went to the library where Jaden picked out a new Dr. Seuss book, played on the computer and played in the playroom. Then we stopped at the coffee shop and he had a muffin. After that, it was naptime. We went to dinner at our local pizza place, where Jaden has a cheese pizza and fruit snacks for desert. The little "guys" are at the pizza place.

The After Party

After getting home from the birthday party, we actually were able to sit down and truly look at the presents Jaden received. The guitar was a hit. He kept saying, "..it's your OWN guitar!" "It's your OWN guitar pick." He also really liked the basketball tabletop game and the art set/markers. I kept a few small things packaged up to take out periodically here and there. I did that with xmas presents and it worked great. It's fun to pull out a new toy in a few weeks at some random time when we feel bored or just in the mood for something new. It was nice that he got a lot of outdoor toys like a sandbox, sandbox toys, a kite, sidewalk chalk and such. We will be putting those to good use in the next couple months! Also, the clothes - cute. He will be able to wear all that summer stuff on the cruise in a few weeks. Here is a video of Jaden with his new awesome guitar.

Go Jaden, it's Your Birthday

Tomorrow is officially Jaden's 2nd birthday, but today was his party. It was at Eagles Nest indoor play park. It was fine, I think the kids had fun. I felt totally scatterbrained the entire time, and it was hectic. Jaden is two. He's so cute and funny and smart. But he's two. And therefore, he is also fussy, whiney and stubborn. So, there was a little fiasco with the opening of the gifts. If you're reading this, I'm sure you were there. So, you know what I'm talking about. But overall, it was fun for Jaden and that's the most important thing. I laugh at the picture of Josh and Jaden facing the wall doing their horn blower things. I have no idea why they were facing the wall. But it was funny. Here are some pics.

Midwest Kids Fest Horror Show

It was my bright idea to take Jaden to Midwest Kids Fest today at the Rivercenter. Jesse really doens't like going to places where there are crowds of kids - or actually, just crowds in general. But I talked him into it. It's $4.95 per person and it's all about kids. What kid on earth wouldn't have fun with facepainting, pony rides, kids bands, inflatable jumpers, costumed characters and such? Mine. What the heck? I guess the melting down started while waiting in line after line just to enter the place. Once inside, we waited in line for the inflatable jumper slide for about 30 minutes only to get to the front of the line where there was a sign on the FLOOR saying that children have to be a minimum of 4 years old to go on it. Um, OK, the kicking and screaming had long since begun. Now what? Well, after regrouping, we did pony rides - that was going fine. Searched out the ballons and after finding them, Jaden decided he wanted his balloon to go "...way up high..." so he let it go and then cried because we couldnt get it back from the 500 foot ceiling. That's pretty much the gist of it. I think you get the picture. Of the thousand people in the place, Jesse pointed out later that Jaden was the only kid crying in the place. Other kids were having fun. Actually, we did see one other little girl having a tantrum and hitting her mom in the face, so there were two of us. I did have one really cool experience, but I will tell you about that later. Here are the pics of Jadey having "fun" at MWKF.

24 Month Pictures

A friend of mine from work came over to take pictures of Jaden a couple weekends ago for his 2 year photos. I just can't believe he's almost 2! In a couple weeks. Here are some of the pictures.
