Weekend Update

We had a pretty good weekend! On Saturday morning we went to the farmers market, where we picked up some veggies. Jaden had his first ever lollipop, which one of the vendors gave him. I wished I had my camera, because he had the whole tootsie pop in his mouth and didn't take it out one time, until it was gone. The entire front of his shirt was soaked in saliva from all the drool. He loved it. Then we went home and went on a bike ride (see pic's), played outside and "driving" in the car. We hung out at home the rest of the day and made home made pizza for dinner (thanks Leah for the idea). On Sunday, we spent most of the day at Breanna's basketball games, where I have never seen Jaden so well behaved. He was a perfect angel, sitting on our laps the entire duration of the games. In between games, we hung out at Caribou, and played in the kid area. BBQ'ed for dinner and then hit the hay. Sad that the workweek starts tomorrow already.

Friday with Gram Gum

Grandma Gum came to play today while mom worked. Here's a snapshot I took while they were having a snack of watermelon and goldfish crackers.

Go Vikings, it's Your Birthday!

Jaden went to a birthday party on Sunday and was instructed to wear his Vikings jersey (courtesy of Grandma Carol). Here are a few pics of pin the paw on the doggy and whatever else.

Apples Galore

Today we made our annual visit to the apple orchard. Jaden went on the pony rides (which is somewhat disturbing, on behalf of the ponies), enjoyed the petting farm and we all went on the tractor hayride. We stocked up on honeycrisp apples (are any other apples even worth eating?), apple brats (for Jesse of course) and a half case of wine from St. Croix Vineyards. It was sunny and hot and we were all pooped out by the end of it.

Lumberjack Bus Driver

Here are some pictures of Jaden today. While mom was working, he was jumping on the bed. Look how his shirt matches the pillow and bedroom furniture. Next, he went on the bus with daddy. So fun!

We all scream for ice cream!

Everyone loves ice cream, right?! This picture is from July at the coffee shop down the block.

At the Cabin

We overnighted at Angie's cabin this weekend with a small group of friends and kids (and a dog). Charlie is my friend, Leah's son, and he and Jaden are 7 weeks apart, so they had fun together. Although it rained most of Saturday, we had a nice time getting cozy in the cabin making homemade pizzas, having a few cocktails, sitting by the woodburning stove and watching the kids. The boys even got in warmed up in the tub together (which Jaden wasn't crazy about. I think it was because Charlie kept trying to put a cup on his head. He didn't like that). Later that night, we watched a mini fireworks display, which Jaden loved and kept saying and signing for more. The kids went to bed and the grown-ups sat around the campfire. In the morning we had coffee and bagels. It was a very cool and crisp morning, so we got the woodburning stove going again. Then later headed outside for the kids to play, Jaden pretend drove the boat for a long time, and went for a quick nature hike. It was a good time!

How do you get a toddler out of the dryer?

Last night, Jaden wouldn't get out of the dryer. I was washing sheets and went to transfer the wet stuff into the dryer, but Jaden climbed in first. I kept trying to reach in to pull him out, and he was just screaming, "no!" at the top of his lungs and kicking his feet. He was all the way to the back, and it seems like it would have been easy to just reach in and grab him, but it wasn't - at least not without banging his head and pulling him by the limbs. So, I finally just squatted down in front of the dryer to look at him and see what he wanted to do in there so bad? Nothing. He just wanted to sit in there. So after a couple minutes he said, "get out," and crawled right out. I SO wished I had a camera. You should have seen it. Little stinker.

Angie's Cabin

This coming weekend, Jaden and mom are heading to Angie's cabin for an overnight with mom's girl friends and their kids. Here is a picture or two from last time we were at Angie's cabin (fourth of July weekend). Jaden loves it! I hope the weather warms up!

Cousins

Jaden went to visit JoJo last Sunday. He loves his baby doll at home, but THIS baby was moving and kicking and making noises! He was a little scared at first, but after a while, he couldn't get enough of "baby." He wanted to hold him on his lap and hug and kiss his little cousin. It was adorable and JoJo is getting so big and is so cute!

Mean ol' teeth

This morning when I was delivering Jaden to his aunts house, I said, "Are you gonna have a fun day at Auntie Gail's?" He said "No." Poor Gail. This is what she has to deal with today. Last night, I think I could see 5 or 6 teeth coming in! Poor kid! I've been keeping him doped up on tylenol since then. He woke up last night out of a deep slumber and said, "Uh-oh!" and then laid his head right back down to sleep. I wonder what happened?!
